IRMINSUL is composer and performer of Celtic Harp and piano, specializing in New Sacred
and "Ascension" music for ritual or special events gravitating toward the spiritual. He was
trained in classical piano from the age of six, and composed his first pieces at age 11. He
attained skill for the Celtic Harp and its oral traditions from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and
England during his years in Utah playing with well known Celtic musicians from various
bands of that genre.
Upon moving to Hawai'i in 2009, he performed and cowrote with harpists Bernice Roberto
and Kristin Aria, when the New Sacred form of music he played a role in pioneering was
born. From work with the Kona Harp Ensemble, through bands Anela and Anela Strings,
he honed his harp and keyboard technique into a one of a kind performance which helped
him attain Big Island Music Awards for 2011 and 2012.
Along side his harp work, he is also an accomplished and published composer for works
ranging from solo piano to small ensemble and orchestra. Such works, along with preview
of their scores, can be found at his publication archive on MUSICA NEO.
